Operation Nightfern Update

Operation Nightfern Update

We wanted to share a quick update about dangerous driving in your area. Please be assured we’re working to keep everyone safe.

Operation Nightfern is currently in full swing, targeting offenders using the road networks for criminality. Merton police officers have been deployed in both marked and unmarked police cars in the LB of Merton fighting vehicle related crime.

If someone is driving a motor vehicle, they should always be doing so in a safe and considerate manner. Even momentary lapses in judgement can have life changing or devastating consequences for those in the vehicle or innocent bystanders.

Activities such as street racing, cruising or performing tricks can count as anti-social behaviour. If you are concerned about this in your area, visit our website for the latest guidance.

You can report dangerous driving online here.

We want your help to shape the future of policing across London. We are seeking your views on our new inclusion strategy to ensure that the Met is a police service that is trusted, representative and more effective at keeping London safe. You can have your say on our Inclusion Strategy consultation which runs until Thursday 26 November.
